Does DoveRunner provide a free trial?
DoveRunner provides an attractive suite of services with a free trial, which allows you to experience the power of multi-DRM and forensic watermarking services in real time. A free trial of the multi-DRM service is valid for 30 days and supports content protection for up to a maximum of 1,000 monthly active licenses and 50 monthly active users.
Opting for a free trial of the forensic watermarking service allows you to experience the best of both worlds: multi-DRM and forensic watermarking services. This is provided through software as a service (SaaS) packaging solution, along with the capability of watermark detection, which ensures a comprehensive premium content protection.
Forensic Watermarking trial has the below limitations:
- Number of SaaS packaging jobs: two jobs
- Source video file size: max 500 MB
- Source video resolution: up to 1080p
- Watermark detection request: up to two requests
What are my payment options?
Credit cards are the easiest way to make payments for DoveRunner services. We accept major international credit cards as well as accept direct bank transfers and offer payment links. Since DoveRunner’s multi-DRM SaaS comes pre-integrated with AWS, you can use the one-stop-billing solution from AWS as well, which allows the use of credit cards, debit cards, electronic fund transfers, etc.
How often will I be charged for using DoveRunner services?
DoveRunner bills you once a month and within seven days of the next month.
What is the difference between Standard Plan and Professional Plan?
The difference lies in the DRM integration for your mobile and OTT application. If you choose the Standard plan, you need to implement the DRM license integration on your own, using native APIs of iOS and/or Android platforms. If you choose the Professional, you can use our mobile/OTT client SDK for easier and faster integration.
Also, our proprietary NCG DRM is not available in the Standard plan.
What are the benefits of the client SDK in Professional?
It takes plenty of resources and time to implement the DRM integration in your mobile application using the API. You can enable the DRM capability in your mobile app faster with less efforts using the SDK because of its built-in features, such as DRM license management and download/offline support.
What is the definition of ‘monthly active user’?
Monthly active user (MAU) means the end user of your content service who played DRM – protected content at least once within the month. We count the number of MAUs to calculate the monthly fee.
How do you count the number of active users?
When a user plays DRM content, the player needs to acquire a DRM license by sending a request to our DRM server. You need to set a unique ID of the user as part of the DRM license request parameter. If your service does not manage the ID of each user, you can set one of the alternative values, such as device ID, session ID, etc.
How do you calculate my monthly fee for a certain number of MAUs?
If the number of MAUs is less than 1,000, you will be charged the minimum monthly fee of your plan. If your MAUs exceed the number included with the minimum fee, there will be an additional per-user fee, which is calculated as per the above-mentioned pricing table.
(e.g.) MAU: 20,000 MAUs with Standard plan Price:
$299 for the first 1,000 users
+ $540 ($0.06/user for the next 9,000 users)
+ $400 ($0.04/user for the next 10,000 users)
Total = $299 + $540 + $400 = $1,239 for 20,000 MAUs
Which DRMs are included in the Standard Plan?
We offer Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay DRM in the Standard plan. NCG (our proprietary DRM) is added in the Professional plan. All DRMs are covered within the same cost without any price complications.
What are the benefits of NCG DRM over other multi-DRM?
Platform-level multi-DRMs such as Widevine and FairPlay are applicable only to video and audio content. NCG DRM can be applied to all types of multimedia contents such as video, audio, image, and document (PDF, ePub). You can also use NCG DRM to protect content on non-Google-certified Android devices that do not have Widevine built-in.
However, the use of client SDK is mandatory for NCG DRM. And in some cases, NCG DRM porting may be required for player/reader applications.
What is the 'watermark pre-processing'?
This is an essential process for the A/B type forensic watermarking solution. While pre-processing, invisible information (0/1) is inserted into one original video to generate two versions of A/B watermarking. Then the A/B versions of the source video are packaged in a DASH/HLS stream each, and combined with the CDN edge in real time at the time of playback to apply unique watermark information.
What is the 'watermark embedding' and what CDN solution can it work with?
When the end user starts playback of DASH/HLS stream, the A/B versions of the stream are combined in real time through integration with the CDN edge. So each stream playback will have a unique watermark for the session. Currently Akamai CDN and Amazon CloudFront CDN are supported.
What is the 'session' and how is it billed?
The session means the playback of watermarked stream content by end user. Unique watermark information (user ID, IP address, timestamp, etc.) can be entered as session data for each playback session. DoveRunner cloud stores the session data transmitted through the session manager API, and embeds the ID of the data into the stream as unique watermark information.
The monthly usage fee for the forensic watermarking plan is calculated based on the number of times the session manager API is called. And an additional fee for the pre-processing/packaging process is charged for each plan type.
What is the 'SaaS Packaging service' and how is it billed?
It is a watermarking pre-processing and DRM packaging integrated service provided in the form of cloud-based software as a service (SaaS). Without the need to build a separate server system for pre-processing, watermarking can be easily applied to the original video stored in your cloud storage through a web console or API.
The service is charged according to the length (input time) of the original video packaged in addition to the monthly basic charge.
How can I use the watermark detection and monitoring service?
If the suspected illegal content is found directly by the customer, the video file can be delivered to the DoveRunner team to request watermark detection. The base fee includes detection services for two titles per month, and an additional fee will be charged for requests exceeded.

Which DRMs are included in the Standard Plan?

MAD is defined as count up the total number of unique devices which have activity in your app each month.
What if I decide to cancel DoveRunner?
If you no longer wish to use AppSealing, you can cancel at any time by publishing your game without AppSealing protection or configure app service status to “OFF” on Settings of ADC. This way, we won’t count the MAD from the unprotected release.
How often will I be charged?
We bill once a month within 7 days of the next month.
Does your solution supports offline environment?
