In today’s security-conscious and regulation-heavy landscape, regional data processing isn’t just a preference—it’s often a mandate. With increasing emphasis on data residency laws across Asia, especially in countries like Indonesia and India, organizations must align their infrastructure choices with local compliance frameworks.
To support this growing need, we’re expanding our regional infrastructure. Starting today, the Indonesia (Jakarta) region is officially live, joining our existing Global and Mumbai environments. Customers can now choose to process their data—including APKs, console metadata, and account information—within Indonesia (Jakarta), enabling stronger alignment with Indonesia’s evolving data localization policies.
Benefits of Data Residency – Why We’re Expanding Regions?
Security and privacy regulations are becoming more region-specific, and we’ve seen a clear trend: customers across Southeast Asia want better control over where their data lives. Whether it’s complying with Indonesia’s GR71 or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), data sovereignty is now a first-class architectural consideration.
By offering dedicated regional environments, we allow customers to:
- Comply with local regulations that demand in-region data storage and processing
- Improve data latency and performance for region-specific users
- Align with internal governance policies around data segmentation and jurisdiction
What are the Benefits of Data Residency in Indonesia (Jakarta)?
Indonesia (Jakarta) becomes the newest addition to our regional offerings. It operates independently and ensures:
All data processing stays within Indonesia:
This includes APK analysis, telemetry, and any metadata associated with customer accounts.
Data segregation at source:
When customers opt for the Indonesia (Jakarta) region, no data is routed through or processed in the Global or Mumbai regions.
Console-based region selection:
You can now select Indonesia (Jakarta) as your default processing region directly from the platform settings.
What choosing a region like Jakarta means for your data:
We’ve designed our multi-region architecture to balance regulatory compliance, system reliability, and performance. Here’s what happens technically when you choose a region like Jakarta:
Region-aware data routing
At onboarding or project creation, your selection locks in a data pipeline specific to the region. From that point:
- All mobile app uploads (APKs) are routed directly to Indonesia (Jakarta)-based ingestion nodes
- Processing happens on isolated compute clusters in-region
- Account-level metadata, console actions, and session telemetry are stored and queried in-region
High availability and fault tolerance
Each region is independently resilient with:
- Redundant compute and storage zones within-country
- Isolated blast radius: issues in one region don’t cascade to others
- Independent CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure updates, reducing global update risks
Indonesia (Jakarta) joins Mumbai and Global in receiving 99.9% uptime coverage, with plans to expand to four-nines (99.99%) SLAs for enterprise customers.
Reminder: Mumbai Region is Also Available
While Indonesia (Jakarta) is the latest addition, it’s worth reminding that Mumbai continues to serve customers across India and surrounding geographies. If you’re operating in or serving users in India and haven’t yet switched to the Mumbai region, now might be a good time to revisit your data residency preferences.
How to choose your Preferred Data Residency Service Region?
Switching or selecting your preferred region is straightforward:
- Navigate to your “Organization > Service Regions” in the console
- Under “Service Region”, choose your preferred region (Global, Mumbai, or Indonesia (Jakarta))
- Save changes. All future processing will respect your regional selection.

Note: Historical data remains governed by the region originally selected during ingestion unless migrated explicitly.
Final Thoughts – Empowering Your Compliance Strategy with Regional Flexibility
As regulatory environments evolve, we remain committed to giving customers the flexibility and transparency they need to build secure, compliant systems. Whether you’re headquartered in Indonesia (Jakarta), servicing clients across Southeast Asia, or simply building with data governance in mind, regional flexibility is now at your fingertips.
