Senior Accountant (India Office)

About the Job

We are seeking a Senior Accountant for our India office to manage accounting, taxation, and administrative operations in close coordination with our Korea headquarters and U.S. office. This role requires a dedicated, detail-oriented, and proactive candidate with hands-on accounting experience, strong knowledge of Indian statutory compliance (GST, TDS), high integrity, and the ability to support day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

● Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting in ORACLE JDE.
● Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval as per the company policy.
● Handle accounts receivable transactions including invoice processing, AR collection follow-ups, weekly/monthly meeting with the management.
● Monitor company expenses, employee reimbursement, credit card transactions booking in system, and prepare and submit expense reports and approval requests as required.
● Manage daily cash operations and banking activities, including reconciliation of INR and EEFC accounts, execution of payments and collections, and maintenance of daily fund reporting and liquidity tracking.
● Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
● Prepare and support fixed asset management, including depreciation schedules; calculate contract liabilities, prepaid and outstanding balances, accruals, and provision reports as required.
● Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
● Support audit processes by maintaining accurate supporting documentation, and coordinating timely responses to auditor inquiries.
● Coordinate with internal departments and vendors regarding billing and payment issues.
● Assist CFO & Management by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Statutory Compliance & Taxation

GST Compliance

● Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase register and ensure timely corrections.
● Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual GST returns accurately and within due dates.
● Ensure timely and accurate e-Invoice preparation and reconciliation of input tax credit (ITC).
● Handle GST audits, assessments, and respond to GST authority notices.

TDS Compliance

● Calculate monthly TDS liability and ensure timely deposit of TDS.
● Prepare and file quarterly TDS returns (Form 24Q, 26Q, etc.).
● Generate and issue TDS certificates (Form 16, 16A) as required.
● Address queries or discrepancies/default notice raised by the Income Tax department.

Administrative & Ad-hoc Support

● Provide administrative support across the India office, including documentation management, vendor coordination, and general administrative assistance.
● Support ad-hoc assignments and reporting requests from the India team, HQ, and the U.S. office as needed.

Requirements

● 1–3 years of accounting experience required. (mandatory)
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field (preferred).
● Strong working knowledge of Indian accounting, GST & TDS compliance. (mandatory) & Income Tax computation.

● Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Oracle JDE is a plus.
● Excellent attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
● Ability to collaborate across departments and time zones (Korea, U.S., India).
● Experience working in multinational or cross-border teams is highly desirable.
